Storm fish restaurant
16 High St, Poole, BH15 1BP

February 2003

We had wanted to try this restaurant for some time but if you want a table on a Saturday it is essential to book. There is a fairly small menu, around half a dozen starters and the same number of main courses. There is mention on the business card of vegetarian options but none on the menu, the meat option was steak.

The food and service is good and the premises are clean, although we were sat under the stairs in a corner, we were not forgotten. The low lighting was taken to the extreme, however, and it was difficult to see the menu which consisted of a few photocopied sheets of A4 paper.

The fish is fresh and of a good quality, however, the mimimum charge is £19.95 for two courses, which is not really much use if you do not want a starter and unfair if you do not wish to subsidise diners who choose what would normally be expensive items. The wines are all priced at around £20.

Good restaurant but expensive.
